F.A.Q.’s

Is it safe for my fruits and vegetables?

Yes. IditaGrow maintains a high temperature throughout the process to make sure that all parasites are killed.

Do the dogs run in the Iditarod?

Yes. The dogs run in the Iditarod and/or the Yukon Quest.

Are you only in Alaska?

Our headquarters is in Southeast Alaska. Our product, IditaGrow, is only sold in Alaska to preserve freshness. We do offer our product, IditaPoo, to anywhere in United States of America.

Is it really compost?

Actually, it is made from compost. It is a soil amendment to create great growth.

Do the dogs have worms?

We have the dogs wormed before they get to our camps and make sure they stay worm free. The compost process heats the compost high enough and long enough to make sure any worms that might have gotten through are destroyed.

Nutrient Rich: Finished compost is a dark, rich humus with some woody material remaining. As an amendment to the soil, compost improves both physical condition and fertility. Compost makes your plants healthier by improving aeration, root penetration, water retention and by reducing crusting of the soil surface.

Soil enhancement: Compost adds texture to heavy clay soils making them easier to work and enhances the water and nutrient retention of sandy soils.

Organic: IditaGrow compost is in a stable organic form and more readily accessible for plant uptake than chemical fertilizers. The nutrients are slowly but steadily released matching the slow and steady needs of plants throughout the growing season.
